Come to Spring Fling on March 24/25

* COVID UPDATE *

The GWCC Board of Directors met recently and voted to update our health and safety policy. The new policy goes into effect on March 15, 2023 and will be in place for our Spring Fling in Shepherdstown, WV on March 24-25. 
Because COVID has become endemic, and in keeping with the planned federal removal of the Emergency designation, we are no longer going to require the wearing of masks at GWCC events. The new policy details

  • Given the ‘close contact’ nature of dancing, we recommend/encourage/welcome the wearing of masks.
  • We continue to require proof of COVID vaccination (at the first GWCC event attended).

Ceilis are social dance events featuring traditional Irish music and dances.

All are welcome–if you don’t dance, come and enjoy the live music.

Dances cover a range of skill levels, but experienced dancers will help you to learn. You are encouraged to give it a try.

Please also consider joining our classes on Thursday evenings to improve your dancing and have fun with friends. Instructor Ann Marie Breheny will include our Set of the Month in preparation for the ceilis. It’s a much better way to learn the dances because class times are long enough to allow her to really explain details and practice the figures several times.

Two important notes!

  1. We are currently continuing to require proof of vaccination & masks at all GWCC events.
  2. We are observing the rules at the Lyceum that prohibit alcohol consumption and smoking.


We have a potluck supper during the first break. Please bring a ‘ready to eat’ dish to share.

When we had to cancel our monthly ceils in 2020 and 2021,
we struggled to find a way to stay connected. Our response was to go online with our Virtual Ceili’ Concert Series – a series of live-streamed concerts featuring local musicians.
