GWCC Fling
Thank you all so much for attending the inaugural GWCC FLING in our new Silver Spring location! Your participation truly made the event even more special. It is such a fantastic opportunity to make and renew friendships.
We can’t thank Pádraig and Róisín enough for teaching us. Thanks to them as well for their calling the dances at the céilís – having the dances so expertly called makes for a more enjoyable and successful experience for everyone. Of course, we thank Rambling House too – Tina, Joe, Marc, Jesse & Patrick are the best, and it was great dancing to their fabulous music.
Yes, we are planning to do this again next year.
Again, it was so lovely to catch up with friends from far and near, and to meet some of you for the first time (we hope it won’t be the last!)
We’ll say it again – the Irish music and dance community is the best in the world!

2025 GWCC FLING Co-chairs
Since 1987, GWCC has brought instructors direct from Ireland to conduct an intensive weekend of set dance instructions and ceilis. Originally located in Cape May, NJ with the remarkable Connie Ryan and Bettie McCoy providing the instruction, the weekend relocated to the Atlantic Sands Hotel in Rehoboth Beach, DE with Pádraig and Róisín again conducting the workshops. We assembled a ceili band of top musicians from the Mid-Atlantic area to play for our two ceilis.
Though we no longer host our Fall Fling in Rehoboth Beach or Spring Fling in Shepherdstown, we have reserved a venue for a new Fling for 2025! We will host a set dance weekend in Silver Spring, Maryland, October 31-November 2, 2025.
Padraig and Roisin have confirmed they will ‘cross the pond’ to teach for us. Rambling House will provide music for our ceilis, and the dance hall is a great size with a wonderful floor. The downtown Silver Spring location offers many great restaurants and shops, a wonderful Irish pub, is convenient to Metro and Amtrak; and three airports are easily accessible (Reagan, Dulles & BWI).
